How to Tell About Summer in English
Summer is the time of year we all look forward to. It is the period when we can relax and have fun with friends and family, as well as create unforgettable moments and experiences. And in fact, it doesn't matter if you spent the summer at sea or mountain, this is the period when you can forget about all everyday tasks and care and just enjoy life.  But as all good and summer have its end, with it comes the end of carefree entertainment. The good news is that if you really have tried to enjoy yourself, then you will eventually have the memories that will warm you up in the cold autumn and winter days. What better thing to do than share it with friends! This way you will not only enjoy the experience again, but also may inspire some of your acquaintances to visit interesting and new places for them that you have set them on fire with your stories. Today we will help you learn to do this and the English. 

Holiday

We'll start with an important reminder - be careful of the times! When you talk about something already experienced, it is usually used past tense. As we know in English, there are several of them and you will certainly benefit from them when you tell the tale. So do a little review if you don't feel safe.  When you want to tell about your summer in English, it is important to know some commonly used phrases. For example, "I went on vacation" "I had a great time"  "I made unforgetable memories" - "I created unforgettable memories" Here are some more useful phrases that will help you describe your emotions and impressions of your summer:
  1. to describe in particular what you did during the summer - "I went to the beach/mounts";
  2. to describe the place where you were - I was/ We were in Italy, Paris ...;
  3. to want to share exactly what you were doing in this place, you can say - "I went swinging/sunking/shiking";
  4. to describe unforgettable moments and experiences - "I saw the most beautiful sunset" or "I had the best meal of my life."

Annual leave

Unfortunately, carefree long summers are a privilege of childhood. And when we grow up, we have to concentrate this warm carelessness within our allowed annual leave. However, this does not mean that we cannot make it interesting, fun and with many hot memories. And if your time or commitments did not allow you to make the summer interesting, this is no reason to give up talking about it. Actually, the next phrases are quite useful because you can describe them with anyone.  - I'm on leave. You can use them whenever you want to share that you had a rest period and enjoyed your free time.  "I took some time off" or "I had some time off work." And remember, even if you don't have any English-speaking friends to tell about your summer adventures, you can always use your knowledge to tell foreigners about some beautiful little corner of our homeland.
