In what language is the green certificate issued
For better or worse, we have lived in times where most of the otherwise ordinary activities such as going to movies, theater, concert and even a shopping center are possible only if we have a Green Certificate. And this applies not only to the borders of Bulgaria, but throughout the world. Then logically questions arise - what is this certificate, in which language it is issued to be understandable throughout the world, and what information exactly does it contain?

What is green certificate

In fact, this is the popular name of the Digital COID EU Certificate. In practice, it is a document which proves that its holder is:
  • vaccinated against COVID-19;
  • received a negative test result; 
  • He was a covid-19. 

What language is it published in?

The certificate shall apply and be required throughout the European Union. For this to be understood, it is always published in two languages - the one from the country where it was also issued. 

What information does it contain?

  1. Information on the person to whom it was issued - name and date of birth
  2. Type information:
    1. for vaccination, the date of administration of the second dose (or the first in single vaccines);
    2. when testing - the date and time of the test;
    3. in the case of illness, the date on which the person is registered as ill;
    4. For all three types, the date until which it is valid.
  3. QR-code - it contains information about each issuing authority, e.g. hospital, testing center, health authority. Its purpose is to protect against counterfeiting of the document. The European Commission has created a portal through which all certificates can be checked across the EU. The personal data of the certificate holder shall not pass through the portal as this is not necessary for the verification of the digital signature.

How Different States Need the Document

It is difficult to make such summary information, especially because of the dynamics of measures that each country introduces and updates during certain periods. But it is increasingly becoming a common trend, the certificate being mandatory for almost all social and cultural events that include the clustering of large groups of people.  At the moment, it is almost impossible to travel to Europe without having a green certificate. Many of the countries in the Schengen area have practically no boundaries among themselves. I mean, if you travel by land, you can enter the country unhindered, but wherever you stay, you'll need the certificate.
