If up until nearly two years ago the Internet and virtual space were just part of our lives, smaller or larger, then today, because of the pandemic, they occupy a huge part of it. Without the Internet, we will not simply deprive ourselves of communicating with family and acquaintances, but it is very likely that we can't work. We've had occasion to talk about how Covid-19 changed the world, our perceptions and our habits. We also have not once said that English is becoming more and more a common language in which people of different nationalities can communicate. Today we will draw your attention a little more to the connection between the Internet and English language and how you can take advantage of all the opportunities it gives you. 

Learning new professions and skills improvement

If you have decided to use the time you need to spend indoors for learning, you have no doubt already understood that the Internet space is abounding with material for improvement in almost every professional area. There are certainly many in Bulgarian, but they are only a small percentage of everything. Because of the popularity of English, very specific professional literature is written or translated into English. And that applies to all areas and professions.  If you are not looking for development, and just want a new job, here again will help you combine English and Internet because:

There are specialists who will not only advise you, but will also optimize your page. But you can also think of social networks as a great way to gain popularity. And here comes the English again. Yes, it makes sense that with English advertising you will have practical coverage worldwide. But it's true that today, the main users of social networks are teenagers. And no matter what their native language is, they often communicate with each other in English. A clip in youtube, facebook, twitter, reddit or tik-tok will gain more popularity if you share your comments in English.  When talking about social networks, you should also consider the specific language used in them. Like any society and the Internet, it forms, so to speak, interest collectives. People united by some common passion or age develop specific vocabulary in communication with each other. The very way of social networking - chat, video connection or online conversation leads to a bunch of different forms of expression. That is, your knowledge of English will also need a special upgrade for the slenga , which the different groups of social network users use. Because, as is known, you will have more success if you speak to the client in his language.

If you're a generation who still thinks social networks are just an alternative way of communicating with family and acquaintances, then it's time to look around more carefully. People today are increasingly communicating mainly online. We often have friends with whom we have managed to build considerable closeness without even seeing each other live. The Internet gives us so much opportunity to be present in the lives of people who are physically on the other side of the world. And English expands the circle of people, among whom we can find supporters, friends or even soul mates.  Whether this trend of virtualizing the modern world likes it or not, it is a fact. So don't waste time whining and nostalgia about the past. Know the Internet and the vast opportunities it can give you - personal and professional. And don't underestimate English! In friendly conversation grammar errors may be acceptable, but in professional ones are unacceptable. Knowing grammar is the ability to master the right vocabulary, it will open up new opportunities for you.
