Basic rules for reading
Most of the consonants here are read exactly as they are written, that is, the letter carries the exact sound content every time regardless of its surroundings.- In German, however, there is something like dissound on D, B and G when they are at the end of a word, syllable or in front of t or st. then, by analogy with the Bulgarian, B sounds like P, D as T and G as K.
- Soft L. Although we are used to taking German as a hard language, his L sounds more like our L. It won't be difficult for you to master the pronunciation, you just have to keep that in mind to have a proper pronunciation.
- Two letters for X.. German H is read as X only at the beginning of the word, in other cases, rather premeditated . However, the words read the CH combination as X. But when you have SCH then read S. But the CHS combination is pronounced KC.
- Escet or the double SS. It's read as C, unlike ordinary S when it's at the beginning of a vowel. Then S reads like Z.
- W and V. That's one of the specialities of German. Here the usual V is read as F and W as B. In the first case there are exceptions mainly in words of foreign origin that have preserved the pronunciation of V as B.
- Two letters for C. These are Z and C, but only when C is in front of [ä], [f] and [i] is read as the Bulgarian C.
